Hopefully by now your student has read all the books, magazines, internet sites, and articles about their science fair topic that they got at the library. The rough draft that is due on Monday is mostly about this research. The students are not expected to have finished their experiment yet! On Monday I want to see a 5 paragraph paper from the 4th graders and 6 paragraphs from the 5th graders that just address the research they have done. Another way to look at this is I want to read about the background information they used in order to formulate a hypothesis. This is a rough draft and is given credit/no credit for turning it in on time.
