I have a soft spot for the newspaper but if you don't get one at your home please feel free to use any other resource you have such as, the Internet, to have your students look up the weather and become familiar with what a weather map looks like and the type of information you can find on one. Try weather.com. We are studying how surface area affects the rate of water evaporation. We will soon be studying the uneven heating of soil vs. water.
